Notes:
Figures are as of January 1 of the corresponding year.
All Virginia refining capacity on and after January 1, 1993 is that of BP Amoco PLC. (formerly Amoco Oil Co.), Yorktown. As of January 1, 1991 and 1992, BP Amco PLC and Primary Corp. operated one refinery each. As of January 1, 1991 and 1992, the atmospheric crude oil distillation capacity of Primary Corp. operated refinery was 3,700, and 6,100 barrels per calender day, and 4,000, and 7,600 barrels per steam day respectively.
U.S. refinery capacity is published only on a biennial basis since 1995.
N/A refers to data unavailable from referenced sources at time of last update.
There are four types of thermal cracking: delayed coking, fluid coking, visbreaking, other/ gas oil. All thermal cracking capacity listed above is delayed coking capacity.
There are two types of catalytic reforming: low pressure and high pressure. All of the catalytic reforming capacity listed above is low pressure capacity.
There are four types of catalytic hydrotreating: heavy gas and oil, naptha reformer feed, distillate, and other/ residual. All of the catalytic hydrotreating capacity listed above is naptha reformer feed, and distillate capacity.
